History of creation
The project was developed by the American company "WET Design", which specializes in creating unusual fountains. Her gracefully moving water entertainment masterpieces are in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Tokyo and Walt Disney theme park. Singing fountains in Dubai were able to overshadow all previous projects of the company, both in scale and in brilliance, elegance, magnificence.

The investment company Emaar Properties PJSC, known in Dubai since 1997, acted as the customer and developer at the same time. The construction of the Singing and Dancing Fountain began in 2008, and less than a year later - in May of 2009, the music and water show was presented to the general public. In Downtown, an artificial lake appeared in a short time, covering an area of ​​more than 120 square meters. The m to which the communications were connected, the most complicated control and filtration systems were created, the musical light was selected and synchronized.


Construction work is estimated at $ 218 million. It is believed that the officially announced figure does not correspond to reality. In fact, financial investments were slightly higher.

Work mechanism
Many water cannons are located along a looped curved line consisting of two smooth elements, combining five circles of different diameters into a single complex. To the accompaniment of famous music pieces performed by famous performers, water jets are ejected to different heights, they depict treadmills, smoothly change levels, create the effect of dance, leaning in different directions.

Every second, the air rises to 83 tons of water, illuminated by 6,600 WET Superlights spotlights, 25 of which produce color radiation. 50 projectors extend visual perception to the full color spectrum. Unique nozzle shooter, super-shooter and extra-shooter, pushing the water under high pressure in the same or different directions, allow you to create unique water compositions, quickly replacing each other. There are more than 1000 of them.
The glass branch suddenly crumbles from a sudden explosion of powerful jets, the intermittent streams turn into a thick fog, and the enchanting aquatic dance harmoniously synchronizes with the musical accompaniment. Rotating nozzles are adjusted so that the water spray does not fall on the spectators who came to see the show. Those present for a few minutes fall into a real fairy tale - bright, fascinating and enthralling.

New effects fountain acquired in late 2010 after the installation of smoke generators and gas injectors. Today, viewers can not only enjoy the amazing dancing of colored streams accompanied by music, but also admire the suddenly emerging “smoke” and “fire”. The organizers of the show claim that the luminous rays can be seen far beyond the lake - more than 30 km in diameter.
